Too Much Exercise is Bad For You

If you have an exercise addiction then it means that you are exercising too much. You may believe that you have to wake at four or five in the morning to get in as much exercise as possible before you leave for work. However, this is not necessary since you do not have to exercise everyday to keep your body in shape. Two hours a day is really a lot of time to be putting your body through some strenuous exercises. At some point in time, your body will become too exhausted and starts shutting down on you. When this happens, you are unable to perform any activities at all.

To prevent or reduce the likelihood of this happening, you can to take a change of clothes to work and when it is your lunch break, you can take as much as a half-hour to get in some simple exercises. There is no need for you to be over-exerting your body, as you will not be alert enough for the rest of the day to carry out your tasks.

Exercise

Many athletes think that when they exercise for more than an hour they are getting all the exercise that their body needs. What they do not realize is that they are causing more harm than good to their bodies. They are also making it possible for them to sustain harmful injuries. Too much exercise can result in the overuse of their muscles. This becomes a problem when it is time for them to participate in athletic competitions, as they are more susceptible to muscle and hamstring injuries. Some of these injuries can even end their careers. Depression sets in and other problems, such as suicide, occur.

Not only athletes are exercise addicts. Many persons with some regular nine to five jobs put themselves through extreme exercising routines. According to Ian Cockerill, a sports psychologist at the University of Birmingham, England: "Healthy exercisers organize their exercise around their lives, whereas dependents organize their lives round their exercise This literally means that for exercise addicts exercising becomes their main priority in life. This can be a result of them being perfectionists and needing some amount of control in their lives. When this happens, they are more often more easily injured. However, some of them do not see the need for a break or rest from the exercise so they just continue doing it until it gets to a point where the injuries become irreversible.

Pregnant mothers are also susceptible to the side effects of vigorous exercises. Persons, who are pregnant, whether they are in the early or late stages of pregnancy, should be careful with the types of exercises that they do. Exercises that have a high-impact rate and require jerky movements for example aerobic dancing will weaken the pelvic muscles supporting the uterus. Whenever this happens, you are at a greater risk of having a miscarriage. Even though vigorous exercises can imagine your chances of timely delivery, not all of them are good for the pregnancy itself.
